Medical Assisting: A Versatile, Attainable Health Career

Thursday November 29, 2007
Are you thinking about a career in medicine, such as becoming a nurse, or a doctor, and not sure where to start? Does the prospect of attending nursing school or medical school seem a bit out of reach due to financial constraints or time constraints? Medical assisting might be an option for you to consider!

Medical Assistants have many choices of where to work, and while you won’t be earning as much money as a nurse or a physician, you also don’t need a college degree, nor will you have to shell out thousands of dollars for training. Working as a medical assistant could be an excellent way to get your foot in the door in the healthcare industry, to decide if a more advanced career in medicine such as nursing would make sense for you to invest the time and money. You can start today by learning more about medical assistants, what they do, and how to become one. And, as an added bonus, as a medical assistant, you’d probably still get to wear those colorful, comfortable scrubs, so you won’t even have to worry about what to wear, or spend lots of money on a professional wardrobe!
