This morning on the national news, several experts, pundits and "talking heads" predicted that the report would reveal another huge spike in the unemployment rate, plus an additional loss of 300,000-400,000 more jobs for July.
However, today's report shows that "only" 247,000 jobs were shed in July, and the unemployment rate remained relatively steady at 9.4 percent. Furthermore, the BLS report states "the average monthly job loss for May through July (-331,000) was about half the average decline for November through April (-645,000)."
All other industries outside of healthcare continued to lose jobs in July, including financial services, construction, and manufacturing.

Health care professions always seem to be relatively insulated from the ups and downs of our economy. Regardless of economic conditions, people get sick, get old, and have accidents.
