This time of year, around Halloween, is the time of year for ghosts and goblins, scary movies, and things that go bump in the night. But did you know there are five killers lurking all year 'round? These killers are in the form of personal habits, and you may not know that they are potential killers until it's too late. I'm referring to five personal issues that could prevent you from getting hired by a healthcare employer. In fact, these career killers could even cause your current career to come to an abrupt end, if you're not careful.

Some of these healthcare career killers, such as criminal activity, for example, are fairly obvious and more commonly known as "don'ts" for a successful career. However, some of the healthcare career killers might surprise you, especially if you're new to the healthcare field. In some aspects, healthcare workers are sometimes held to a higher standard due to the handling of sensitive personal medical information, and other job requirements that call for an employee of utmost integrity and someone with a clean background.
