CareerCast.com has released its latest stress rankings for more than 200 careers. The lists of the most stressful, and least stressful jobs and careers contain some good news for those working in healthcare, and those who are interested in working in healthcare.
Four of the "10 Least Stressful Jobs" for 2013 are in the healthcare field:
3. Medical Records Technician
Additionally, librarian ranked 9th on the list, and medical librarian is a great career option for people who are interested in both library science and medicine.
However, while a couple of the above careers were newcomers to the "Least Stressful" career list, appearing for their first time, a few health careers dropped out of the top ten least stressful jobs, that were included in last year's list. The careers that dropped out of inclusion on the list of least stressful jobs were were: chiropractor, dental hygienist, speech language pathologist, and occupational therapist.
No medical careers appeared on the list of top ten "Most Stressful" careers, which some may find surprising. The rankings were calculated with a scoring system based on 21 factors impacting job stress such as job demands, hours, safety, work environment, pay, interaction with the public, deadlines, and more.
