While schedules vary based on the setting and type of job, some common schedules for psychiatry nurses consist of eight- to twelve- hour shifts, 3-5 days per week.

Basic Pre-Requisites for Psychiatry Nurse Jobs:

  • Jobs are available for all levels of nurses, from LVN/LPN, to mid-levels and advanced practice nurses.
  • Most positions require RN with a BSN
  • Background in Med-surg is a plus
  • State license/appropriate certifications required
  • Clean background
