Are you passionate about helping kids? Working with young children is a calling for very special professionals who possess a great deal of patience, and who know how to interact with kids in a way they understand.

Pediatrics is the field of medicine which focuses on the medical treatment of children and teenagers, typically anyone under the age of 18 years of age. Pediatric careers include physicians, nurses, medical assistants and other office staff or allied professionals. Most pediatric careers are in a medical office environment, while some are in a hospital setting such as a children's hospital. Additionally, school nurses are another option for those who wish to work with kids.

Interested in learning more? About.com's Guide to Pediatrics, Dr. Vincent Ianelli, provides an overview of a career as a pediatrician, along with some advice for those interested in becoming a physician. If being a doctor is not for you, perhaps you could be a nurse or medical assistant in a pediatric office.
