Nursing- Great choice/Many reasons
- I've been an RN since 1992. I enjoy the Nursing field because of the several options available. From Pediatric care in the Home, to Geriatric, Case Mangement, etc. I agree to have more options a BSN is preferred. However, you still need to be proficient in your skill set, i.e. "hands-on" care to be an effective nurse. I would certainly recommend nursing to anyone who was considering it as a choice. Just remember to research your field of interest, and talk to RN's who are working in that area. Good luck to all!! Maria-Olivia

Go for the BSN over the ADN
- I wish someone had told me to go ahead and get the bachelor's degree of nursing (BSN), instead of the Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN). While the associate's degree is a good start, the career options are more limited, and now, many employers are requiring the bachelor's degree, especially if it is a Magnet hospital, etc. I did go back and get my bachelor's degree, but it probably would have been easier if I had gone straight through and obtained my bachelor's degree from the beginning of my career.
